Gas Prices/Alternative fuel source

Oh my lord!! This is something I could ramble on about for hours. Is it a coincidence that gas prices sky rocket during holidays. Oil companies are making millions. Every quarter these companies post profits that are unbelievable while we pay ever higher and higher prices at the pump. I personally would like to understand why these prices fluctuate so much and why hasn't our government done something drastic to change it. There are an immense amount of ideas about alternate fuel sources that we could use but still there as been no change. I would love to discuss this further and possibly finding a solution to this problem. Oh yeah. I almost forgot. The recent oil disaster that spilled millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico was from a British Petroleum oil rig. The next time you put Castrol into your vehicle, turn the bottle around and you'll notice BP at the bottom. You may have stopped purchasing your gas at a BP station but I bet you're still buying Castrol.

Very interesting topic! Gas prices affect my family in a major way because I have to commute a long distance to work every day and when gas prices go up it cuts a huge hole in our budget. And alternative fuels and the environmental impact of our fuel usage are huge issues.
